Hello everyone. I've been looking for a forum such as this. I hope I don't come across as an annoying sales person. I can be an annoying sales person, but I try to be as charming as possible. A little background about myself, I operate a medical equipment repair company and I am a flex scope repair tech with over 8 years of experience. I would like to provide answers to technical questions and hope you will answer some of my questions.

1)Would it be possible for a non-healthcare worker to observe a colonoscopy or would this be improper? I have never asked any of my customers as I don't want to appear odd:imbar . I am quite curious what happens during a procedure, these unique instruments are fascinating and challenging to repair and I often wonder what one goes through (no pun intended) during a procedure.

2) What are nurses looking for in a service company, I offer them more than the manufacturer or large third party company and they still won't try me. This is especially true of hospital endoscopy units. Are repair contracts really that good? I often have people tell me that we have to use our contracted vendor so we will get a refund at the end of the year. That is absolutely insane. Endo departments are being over charged, thats the only way a company is willing to give back money. I once worked for a large third party company and my boss told me that I needed to start averaging $400 per scope. It didn't matter that the scopes didn't need that much work. They needed to be able to pay for the yearly refund.

3) Sure you had the cap on the scope. The fluid invasion magically appeared from the fluid fairy:chuckle. Seriously though, do you have alot of fluid invasions and can't figure out why?
