Charge Nurse Pay

Just a general question...if you are a nurse that does charge duties as well, how much extra do you get paid to do so?

Here, at my hospital, staff RN's only do charge on the weekends and have an assignment as well. We get an extra $0.75/hr to handle that stress.

Our director said they are going to look into other hospitals and will hopefully adjust to stay competitive.

Any input would be appreciated.

We get 1.50 for the extra stress.

$2/hour

Same here. Mid-Atlantic region, if that helps.

Where I precepted, the nurses got 5% for charge shifts (CA).

My place of employment pays nurses an extra $2 per hour to assume charge nurse duties. In my opinion, the added stress is not worth an extra two bucks an hour.

$1-3/hr extra

When I started working in the hospital, it was $2/hr. They took it away when the economy tanked and the charge RN does not get any financial incentive to being charge any longer.

$1 an hour, acute care medical oncology unit.

90 cents. And it is by far not worth the stress.

$1.00 more an hour for charge nurse on a 26 bed tele/med unit. Definitely not worth the extra stress!!
