If you could specialize in a certain area other than your own what would it be? Any regrets? If you could go back and do it over again what would you get into?

That's a nice question. I would like to be a nurse practitioner in the endocrine area. Back when I was working on my MSN, there were no NPs. It would be nice to be able to diagnose and prescribe, instead of using nursing diagnosis and making recommendations to physicians. We gain a lot of experience over time, but are unable to officially use it. Course, we continue to use it to teach and mold others.

Radiation Oncology. It's not a nurse, but it looks like a good area to be in to me.

No regrets although I may say I regret this or that from one MOOD zone to another.

Anything and everything that has hit my life since conception had a purpose in it for me........if it wasn't intended....it would NOT have occurred. It isn't the traumatic injuries that have inflicted my life that make this easy to speak of....in that case....I'd have nothing but regrets.......but, it is the growth and maturity that have profoundly impacted my life BECAUSE of those traumatic injuries that could have HELD ME BACK and kept me from growing into the wonderful human being I am today. That is why I can earnestly say.......NO REGRETS! :kiss

As for what I would like to be doing.......well...FOR TODAY ANYWAY....I'm in a STARDOM mood right now.....I want to be a STAR for a day.....on television....in the movies.....sing....act...dance...be a comedian......play a slutty sex scene with Sean Connery, John Travolta, and the singer formerly known as "the symbol" -- once again known as PRINCE.......I'll take all three of them on at once....that would be my fantasy for today. :chuckle :blushkiss

Nurse midwife. plain and simple.

I have specialized in gerontology. If I wasn't doing this, maybe hospice nursing, but I don't know if I could handle that day in and day out.

Nursing is my my dream I left my old professtion for it =) I wouldent change anything though. As cheerfuldoer said everything that has happened to me has made me into what I am today.

I might want to dabble in wound care specialty.

I'm with you Renee, I'd want some stardom...Always wanted to be a singer in a band like Manhatten Transfer or New York voices, Then make it really big like Ella Fitzgerald or Sara Vaughan.

I have specialized is med-surg nursing and L&D with antepartums and postpartums. I am looking forward to changing to either the ER or ICU. I am looking for the perfect job where I love to go to work and do not regret that I have to leave my family. :)
