SPC Nursing Fall 2012

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Finishing pre reqs with Microbiology this semester. I will be applying for Fall 2012. I'm glad they changed the application process so I can apply after the semester is over. I'll have a 3.9 GPA so long as I get A's in Micro. I hope I can get in, its been a long journey to get here...

That info is in the first post...

I read yours, but I was hoping that the others reading this thread and if any new people joined in, they could provide theirs. Usually when these threads go on, the students that get accepted and declined or just apply, share their gpa and credits taken so everyone else can get an idea of all the applicants.

I am currently at a 3.7 with all classes completed. That being said, I am retaking comp 1 and speech to bump up my gpa. If I get an A in both of those I will have a 4.0. What about you?

I am currently taking my last pre-req (Statistics) and have a 4.0 gpa. I didn't get in last semester but am hoping to get in for Fall given I don't flunk out of Statistics. LOL.

Has anyone subbed their application yet now that it has opened? I did on Tuesday. Good luck everyone!

I did!

I am so worried! I applied in spring as well and (obviously) did not get in. I dropped my speech class I was retaking and now my gpa will be 3.9......So I guess I will find out in a couple months!

Soontobehope and ALavallee - your grades seem high enough to get in! I heard from a classmate that went to the nursing office that they were going to be changing the application process (once again!) in 2013. However, as it was just hearsay it might not even be true. Good luck!!

We sure do hope so! I know I have been taking per reqs FOREVER! I am ready to get started! How is school going? Which semester are you in? Is there anything we can do over the summer that might benefit us?

LOL! I know the feeling! I'm finishing up level 2, and we are all counting down the days until summer break! Make sure you're vaccinated - hep B, hep A, tetorifice, get a ppd test done, as well as a physical at the dr. Start looking for American Heart Association BLS CPR classes - it needs to be done before the first day of class. And make sure it's a BLS CPR class you take - a person in my class went to a CPR class but it wasn't BLS and she had to re-do immediately.

Where did you take your CPR at? Mine expires at the end of the month. I have the BLS for healthcare providers, is it the same as yours?

Thanks! I hope so :)

Not that I recommend this place (lady is a complete whack job), but I went to CPRbuddy.com. She does CPR BLS for healthcare providers. Check out sunstar ems also. And apparently St. Anthonys will occasionally do the CPR classes. A classmate found someone that comes to your home and does it with you there. If you are interested in that just PM me and I'll ask her who he is. And yes, your CPR status is the same as mine. Only valid for 2 years, so I get to do it again next year.
