Please help with salary info??

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Hello.

My husband and I are seriously considering a move from Pennsylvania (suburb approx 30 mins outside of Philadelphia) to the St. Johns area of Florida. We have family that recently moved to St. Augustine. We were just down to visit and we really like the area of St. Johns, particularly Durbin Crossing.

I am an RN with an ASN. I am certified in inpatient obstetrics. I will soon be starting an RN to BSN program. I have 9 years of experience in Labor and Delivery, Nursery, Antepartum, Postpartum, OR, PACU and peds.

I was hoping that you could all take a minute to share with me what you know about nursing in the Jacksonville area. I would appreciate any info about the area hospitals (I know there are many) and salary information would be especially helpful!

Thank you very much!!!

Desiree :)

Not sure about where you come from but I can tell you there is a need for experienced L&D nurses in FL. Sadly thou the need is due to burn out. I know a number of RN's that all say the same thing.... the expectant mothers don't want these babies. It's not a joyful time for them, rather just a burden to deal with.

Salary wise, $25-$30 hr. Florida simply does not pay much because they (the hospitals) know there is a lot more supply than demand. After all... people want to live in the sunshine state and more are moving in everyday.

Specializes in OB.

I live in Jax, there are jobs available for experienced OB nurses, recently 2 hospitals gave pay raises based on experience good luck
