I live in Jacksonville, and have applied to Georgetown University and University of Cincinnati for their online FNP MSN programs. Just curious if anyone else around here may have been applying too.

Hi Tasha. I live in Fernandina Beach and applied to Georgetown University FNP January 2014 part time cohort. I applied 10/10 so I am anxiously waiting to hear back. I have been researching schools for over a year and GU is my top pick but I have several others that I am definitely intersted in if GU doesn't work out. Good Luck!!

I live on the Westside near Normandy! =) I applied Oct 2nd and still not a word yet...emailed my admissions rep and he is out of the office until the 22nd!!! UUGGHHHH...I originally wanted GU first too, but I came across Simmons College and they utilize the very same platform as GU for their online FNP instruction, soooo I applied there last night. I will probably hear back from GU and SC before University of Cincinatti though, because UC takes 6-8wks to hear...I've been on pins and needles like crazy this past week! Good luck and keep in touch!

Congrats, glad you heard so quickly! I wonder since I"m not wanting to start in Jan, I actually want to start in March if that is why it's taking a little longer? They probably need to notify folks who start sooner! =)

I am sure it is especially since it is close to deadline. I read on another post that some one who was applying for a later start date waited for about a month before they heard back. I hope you hear soon. You got this girl!!!

thanks! It's sooooo nerve wreaking to wait on an answer LOL. I know UC will take forever so i'm not even worried about that. Simmons I applied to on Monday I think, and it's 2-3 wks to hear from them as well. Did you know Simmons has the same technological platform that Georgetown is using for their program, same length of courses, and is 35K cheaper? They also tout a 100% pass rate for their on-campus program, so honestly as long as i get into ONE of them I"ll be thrilled. the only other thing that makes me now lean towards Simmons more is they offer 7 day per week live courses and even some late evening/night classes, which means I could still work during the day! =) that's a HUGE factor for me right now. I'll keep you updated as I hear more!

I keep refreshing my email app on my phone every hour hahahahaha. My adviser said hopefully I may hear something this week, but if not then for sure next week. OMG I'm all nutso over this waiting game! I know if I don't get in, it's not the end of the world, but its the waiting to find out that is the hardest. I think maybe i'll get a jump start on patho and just start doing some reading/listening to an MP3 study guide I have LOL. Maybe if I keep myself occupied I won't be such a worry-wort LOL. I'm very excited for you though davesbride. Did you get the financial aid info yet? does it look like the student loans will cover most of it if not all? I thoughts i also heard we have to pay a fee to "hold our seat" how much is that and how long did they give you pay? You are starting in Jan right?

Hi Tasha. I have been on vacation for a few days. I know what you mean about the waiting. I was ok with not getting into GU but just waiting drove me nuts. I had 2 other schools that I was interested in but didn't want to start applying until I had an answer from GU.

You have to sign an "Intent to Enroll" and pay deposit of $500.00 before you will get financial aid package. You have to complete a financial aid form in addition to FASFA. It is really short though. Then it takes about a week to get financial aid package. I am waiting on mine now. As soon as I completed the Intent to enroll and paid the deposit I received multiple emails from my student support advisor in regards to what else I needed to do to complete the enrollment. I have my welcome call with her in the morning to go over everything and to answer any questions. So I will know more tomorrow. :) Will let you know once I can nail down specifics.

Thanks I really appreciate any info you can send this way. I emailed my adviser last night because it's been 21 days and no word yet =( He said I should have known something by now and would check today. I'm anxiously waiting his email/call today! I sort of have a feeling I did not get it, but I'm okay with that if not. I do have applications in to Simmons and University of Cincy so either of those two I'm good with too although Simmons is my ultimate second choice! =) Hope to hear back from you! T
