Just took HESI entrance exam - is the score enough to help me?

U.S.A. Florida

Hi everyone,

I just want to post some news, which may be good or may not be, depending on typical HESI entrance exam scores.

I got a 94% overall. I hope this gives me an edge of some sort, because although my GPA is good ( 3.7 avg.) my resume looks boring. I've largely been home being a mom for the past 13 years. I have a medically challenging child, who also has autism. We've been through multiple surgeries, lots of ER time, a lot of biomedical interventions, a lot of sleuthing, lots of research but there is no place for that on a transcript....

I am glad of the decent HESI score, though. Some of the questions were crazy! The last math one went like this:

Johnny comes home with 45 pieces of Halloween candy. He eats 10 pieces the first night. Two days later, his mom gives him 7 pieces. Two days after that, she gives him 7 pieces, then on day seven, she gives him 5 pieces.

How many pieces does he have left?

a) 25

b) 13

c) 7

d) 0

What the?!! Not a good question.

Anyway, even with a few weird ones that seemed impossible to get right, I am happy with the 94%.

Thanks for listening. One more hurdle done!

Did you also have to take the Anatomy/Physio, Chemistry, and Biology and Critical Thinking test? Or just the English and Math?

I'd like to say I aced it all, but the two schools I am applying to only require 4 tests -- grammar, math, reading comprehension, and vocabulary. So, it was pretty durn easy.

I would have failed physics for sure, as I've never had it! I would have done well in A&P and Bio, gotten a 70% or so in Chem. But -- we didn't have to take them.

Does anyone know where I can take the Hesi with the Critical thinking section in Florida? Preferably south florida?!!
