Anyone Applying to the May 2017 program? I wanted to get into the January program but I was missing a math class and couldn't complete it in time for the January program.

To calculate your pre-req GPA (grades from ENC1101, BSC2085, BSC2085L, BSC2086 and BSC2086L), you can use the following:
For 3 credit classes:
A = 12 points
B = 9 points
C = 6 points
For 1 credit classes (LABS):
A = 4 points
B = 3 points
C = 2 points
Add up the total points and divide by 11. This is your pre-req GPA. Your pre-req GPA DOES NOT show on your degree audit.
Based on your pre-req GPA, the points are awarded as follows:
1 point = 2.5
2 points = 2.6]
3 points = 2.7
4 points = 2.8
5 points = 2.9
6 points = 3.0
7 points = 3.1
8 points = 3.2
9 points = 3.3
10 points = 3.4
11 points = 3.5
12 points = 3.6
13 points = 3.7
14 points = 3.8
15 points = 3.9
16 points = 4.0

points are based off your pre req GPA
I'm well behind. LOL I still have to take the Hesi...
so are points used to compare candidates?
Has anyone had their application processed yet?
lol take it soon, so you won't stress!

yes points are used to compare the candidates. it goes from the highest gpa first down to the lowest. the lowest gpa that is accepted depends on the applicant pool. So we won't know that till about march when we start seeing people on this forum saying that they are accepted or when the letter goes out. Remember May term has less spots for generic students due to the lpn students start at that time as well. As for applications being processed I don't think any of us have been processed as of yet because they probably have to make sure everything is set with the January term before they focus on us lol

Does anyone know what certifications we will need once the program starts? I know we need the cpr, als and bls am I missing one? I know its early, but I really need to pay for as much as I can while im working. Less to think about when the program starts.
Thanks, I've been procrastinating... Since it's my first time, i'm terrified, but i'm sure everything will be fine. Good luck to all guys I can't wait to meet you all...

You will be fine! I was freaking out but it was very easy. Easiest standardized test I've ever taken. For math just make sure you are good with ratios, fractions, and conversions. For Anatomy...hopefully it is fresh in your mind, I didn't find it too difficult.
yes i agree with prettypenguin you will be fine. The test isn't hard. I defiantly recommend studying ratios, conversion, fractions etc. Everything else is the basics. When are you taking the test? We only have a month and half before the deadline for applications?
Jan 21st, thank you guys, I'm good with Math, Vocab worries me, since English is my second language, but I guess I will be fine, I'm not hoping to score a 100, will be happy with passing all with 75 and a decent overall...I can't wait for this to be over. I'm also taking Micro Lab in January and I will be done by April...I've all the pre req needed to apply. Also a while ago a I bought a dosage calculation book on ebay, so I might start reading and doing some exercises
