Relocation after starting my first nursing job 6 months ago....advice please!

Nurses New Nurse

Hello everyone! I am brand new to this site but I figured what better way to get advice and pointers but from other nurses who have possibly gone through the same thing I am! Alright so, here is my situation. I graduated nursing school in December of this year and I started my first job in March. My husband and I recently got married and he is in the military (army to be exact) and I had to relocate to Alaska about 3 weeks ago. I had to leave my first job after only being there about 6 months. I have been told by the places I have applied thus far that they really prefer someone with at least 1 year of experience although they have said my resume looks great. Also, part of the problem is that we are currently located in Fairbanks, AK and there are not too many job opportunities available. I do have my Bachelors degree so I am hoping maybe that will help but I am just kind of unsure of what to do next. If anyone knows anything about the area or can give me some pointers of other places to look that would be wonderful! I am trying to think outside of the box and apply to as many different places as possible but I am just having a hard time. Thanks so much for any help any of you are able to give me or if not help just some encouragement!

Do you have letters and references from your former place of employment? Have you brushed up on your interviewing skills? Something will come along soon, just keep you chin up and keep trying! Ask the Lord to bless your efforts! :-)

Thank you for the encouraging words! :)
