Hello everyone! I am a new LPN and I have been working as an LPN for a little over 3 months and I love my job for the most part, but I just don't feel like I am getting everything I want/need out of it. Anyways, I began applying for jobs and even though I thought there was no way I would get hired, I applied for an agency job. Much to my surprise, they called and hired me. Now, I am freaked out! lol I do not know to much about agency jobs but I do know that you are sent places and expected to know how to do everything without much training, if any (which is why they generally do not hire people without experience). Anyways, I really want to work for the agency, pay is great, I would get a ton of experience, and I would always be somewhere new. But, I'm afraid I'll screw up and that I may not be ready. I would appreciate constructive critiscm and advice. If anyone out there has worked for agencies in the NE Kansas area I would really appreciate some insight!

Are you only going to be going to the same type of unit that you work on now? If not the shock will be quite severe. I mean it is going to be severe anyway as you are a new grad and just getting your feet under you. With agency you generally do not have any orientation, just show up and work. You must be very comfortable in your nursing work and able to speak up to get all the help you will need (having to ask where everything is, what the normal routine is, etc.).
I am very surprised they hired you at this point in your career. Be careful that they are out to make money off of you and do not care if you sink or swim.
