I can't enroll yet!

Nursing Students Excelsior

Published

I'm taking Microbio at a local college and it wont be complete until the end of December. I then have to obtain my transcript and ship it off to Excelsior, and at that point I can finally enroll and start to schedule my remaining nursing courses(I have everything else complete). I passed Transitions today, so I have six remaining courses. My question is this, I have a good two months to study for one of the exams(I prefer to do only one at a time) so which one would you pick?? What one would benefit the extra study time? Also, could I do info literacy to get that out of the way as well? Thanks for all the help guys! You have no idea how much you all have helped me so far :)

I don't understand why you can't enroll. Is it for financial reasons? Because unless something has changed, you don't have to have your prereqs complete and if it is because you are at another college, I thought most colleges offer "dual" enrollment or "joint" enrollment options.

If I were in your position, I would definitely get Information Literacy out of the way. I highly recommend Penn Foster for info lit. I'd also finish any prereqs (which I am assuming you have done since said you have "everything else" complete).

Don't you have to be enrolled to access content guides? If you do, I wouldn't even attempt to study for an ECE without the content guide. Maybe the school will give you special access if you request permission. Then you can review the content for each ECE and decide for yourself which one would take the allotted 2 months for you. For me, it would have been repro. The test turned out to be easy but it is my weakest subject so I studied longer for it. Then of course there are the Life Spans, but I don't know if I would recommend doing an LS test to someone just starting out :lol2:.

Congrats on transitions and good luck!

As of OCt 2012 A&P and Micro must be completed before you can enroll. Also, prior to enrollment the only test now available is Transitions.
