Response Team, Who does it

  1. Hi Everyone

Who is your response team? meaning who goes and picks up the seizing patient in pharmacy? Where i work its the tech(ERT). and how far does your response team go before you call 911? if your hospital has clinic buildings attached does the response team go there or is that 911.

please reply, we need your input

    Thanks

in my hospital a "code blue" is called for any medical emergency anywhere on the hospital grounds. we have a medical building attached and technically they are supposed to call 911...but they usually call us.

as far as who is on the code team...
the ed doc, one nurse from the ed, one nurse from the icu, the nursing supervisor, pharmacy, respiratory and security all respond.

of course if the code is in the ed...only the nursing supervisor, pharmacy, respiratory and security respond. icu does not.

ours is similar to Rn92. Any medical emergency in house is responded to by the "ERT team" an RN from the ED, an ED doc, house supervisor, orderlies, and an ICU RN.
