as for saying that the ed strips all these patients of dignity - do you work in a ed?!?!? if you do, let me know so i don't go there - any ed i have worked in goes out of their way to help people not degrade them...

as for the homeless/psych patients - many of them do have psych problems as well as drug and alcohol problems....hmmmmm which came first - the chicken or the egg???

i agree that there are some that have had a sad existence forced on them - however there are many jobs available out there - they are low wage, hard work jobs - but i would do it if i had to in order to survive - many others don't - why is that?!?!? most of the time the first paycheck goes to drugs or booze, then the next day of work missed and so forth - so yes there is some sympathy - but there is help out there for those who wish it.
