DNP - One Class At A Time?

Specialties Doctoral

Published

I'm graduating from my Master's PMHNP program in August of this year and I'm looking for a DNP program (Psych-Mental Health concentration) that allows students to take 1 class per semester or allows students to slowly take courses as an unclassified graduate student and later transfer those courses into the DNP program. I appreciate any posts on this topic.

Thanks........

I'd like to know also.

Hey Guys!

I found some information on this. It looks like UAB and Vanderbilt could be some potential options for doing the DNP at a slower pace. You could take at least a few classes one at a time, but it looks like you would ultimately have to take 2 simultaneously at some point for both.

UAB allows a maximum of 12 credit hours earned as a non-degree seeking student to be applied toward a degree.

Vanderbilt also allows you to apply as a non-degree seeking student and later apply those credits to a degree. However, they have a similar stipulation; Credits earned as a non-degree seeking student cannot comprise more than 25% of total required credits for a degree.

Hope that was helpful!
