How is Davita training like?

I just got accepted for a hemodialysis nurse position. I am starting training soon and would like to prepare myself ahead of time. Any tips? Any insight as to what may happen or what I should prepare for? They mentioned the first week will consist of computer-based training where I would sit for 8 hours in front of the computer reading. And I would be sent somewhere for two weeks for classes, of which hotel and food would be supplied for. Is there anything else I need to know? Thank you!!

The best book I read was this one:

Review of Hemodialysis for Nurses by Judith Z. Kallenbach. It is not short. It WILL give you a big leg up for what's to come. You will be able to hit the floor on your first day and have a well-rounded basic concept of the dialysis process and everything involved.

The computer training days are pretty mind-numbing. Lots of P&P. LOTS...

Then you hit the floor and it's go-go-go from then on.

they ask about why dialysis, what do you see yourself in 5 years outside of nursing, what do you know about dialysis, what do you know about Da Vita etc

Hi. Can you please share with us how training days were set up?

For the skills/theory portion, was it 8hrs days? How many weeks of it did you get?

You also had an on-site training. How many hrs is that? 12hrs?
