Advice on the low-protein diet and IGAN

Hi all of you guys!

My brother who is in another country has been diagnosed with IGA nephropathy ( La maladie du Berger) and needs now to follow a low-protein diet. In waiting that he can see a nutritionist, do you have any advice on such diet and where I could find it. I checked out the kidney.org, eatright.org, GIcare.com and had few answers.

I would appreciate any advice on IGAN. I have been following his BUN/CREAT. He is on immuno-suppressant, Prednisone(tapering down) and an antibiotic since January 05. :uhoh3:

He has up and down. We are getting ready for the idea of transplant eventually. I would not want him to be on dialysis for too long.
