Acute Clinics

I'm not new to dialysis nor the acute setting, but my experiance is limited to a single clinic. I'm curious how other acute clinics operate. I have 7 machines (4 on the floor, 2 backup and 1 portable), 5 stations and run a 3:1 ratio. We have 1 full time RN, 1 floating RN and no tech. The two nurses alternate days so, unless census is too high, we don't work at the same time. I'm comfortable with the setup as we have all the resources of the hospital at the push of a button (the clinic will literally be packed with MD's, RN's, RT's, lab, radiology, looky-loos, etc within a few seconds of a code being called). The floor staff transports the pt to and from us. We will do ICU pts in the clinic unless intubated, on critical care drips or otherwise deemed inappropriate. HD services are contracted out. As I said, I'm just curious how my clinic compares to others. Thanks!
