what's the skinny on the ER's in Denver????

U.S.A. Colorado

So I have been working in the tulsa area for 3 years in the ER. I have worked for 3 of them, been part time at two and full time at one, (gluten for punishment). Everyone knows which ER is good, bad, horrible to work for, has bad managers, bad nurses, great managers, great nurses etc.

For example, Here in Tulsa, st francis trauma center has horrible nurse managers, newbie nurses every semester, like 20 and 30 at a time, and they can't keep employees. The ER is run horribly and the manager doesn't care about losing experienced nurses, her reply is always, "I can just hire more new grads". I think because herself only has a few years as a staff nurse and most of her staff are more intelligent than her. anyhow, Just across the way, they have a similar trauma center that has tons of experience, great nurses and managers and they keep their staff and I love working there, but I need the outdoors, a change, and the mountains!!!!!

What is the skinny for Denver area? anybody have some insight on the ER's there, as far as good staff, managers, acuity, patient to nurse ratio. stuff you would want to know before moving 1000 miles to take a plunge. I was talking about moving there the other day and my coworker said i was crazy because of the massive pay cut I would take moving there. my base pay here is 22.91, shift differential is 4.50 for nights, and 6.50 for weekends. so around 27 dollars base, would I be taking a pay cut? hearsay from a few paramedics that came from there said no way and I would make more than that there with my experience, qualifications, and the fact I have charge nurse experience.

I appreciate any help on these matters, I am starting to put my ducks in a row to complete this move, just want to know where to start applying and looking at housing in relation to the hospitals i could be working at! thanks y'all!
