Is Denver School of Nursing worth it?

I might be having a little "freak out" moment, but I will be applying to the DSN BSN completion program for the October 2013 start. I had originally planned on attending a local CC until they closed their waitlist to start a new admissions program and are not sure when they will start accepting applications again. But, the same program in Fort Collins is estimating accepting applications for Spring 2015, so I can only assume this program will be that date or even further out. I have an AAS degree from a technical college and DSN will accept many of my general education credits, which is a plus. But, just looking at the cost of the course and knowing I will have to have massive student loans is just scary to me. I have tried to find other options, but I am also starting my 6th semester of prereq classes and being the mother of three would just like to get started already so that I can get done! DSN absolutely fits my needs, and I am not really sure it is that expensive when you compare it to other programs (excluding the CCs). Thanks!

Hi there! I saw in another post that you were asked to interview! Congratulations! That is very exciting! I have an interview as well and am totally freaking out about the price of DSON. Are you still freaking out?

Congratulations!!!!! I am still completely freaking out. I have been researching scholarships, and almost all do not apply to DSN. To add on top of it, we were told our oldest son possibly might make one of the top competitive teams in his soccer club next year (with an amazing price tag to go along with it)....guess I will spend my summer working! Guess this is what student loans are for...

Right?! Ugh...the amount of debt I will be taking on makes me a little sick to my stomach, but I just keep telling myself that it will get me to where I want to go. I was just curious as to how other people do it...not working, w/kids, etc...I am completely overwhelmed with the idea, but I have been working towards this for what feels like forever. I just have to push through the fear.

I am a medical transcriptionist from home, but I really do not make all that much. I am not sure how we are going to do this. Lots of cheap dinners. There is just no way I will make it if I have to work, school and study. I have lowered our car insurance and am looking for ways to reduce our monthly bills (changed cell phone providers) and small things like that. Hope my kids like PB&J!!!!!
