Should I accept?

Nursing Students CNA/MA

Published

Hey everyone, so it's been very hard to get a position with a hosp in my area, and I was offered a PRN Float Pool position at a well known hospital. Well, this same hospital has been the most rude to me since I got my CNA cert. I would always exhaust myself to interview and shadow and they give it to an internal candidate.

I also turned a position down because of the pay at one time and she told me she would never consider to hire me again because I turned the position down.

The techs don't do as much as a tech in a neighboring hospital...which has me a bit bummed. The pros?... Pay, hours, experience....the cons?... rude staff, hectic units, layoffs (as PRN FP I would be the first to go)

I also asked the nurse manager how many months it would be until I can transfer to another dept? (like the ICU, ER, or Delivery) She told me a year. She was pretty stern about it. That was a pretty big con for me. I later found out by the techs I shadowed it was 6 months. It made me a bit happier...but I didn't like that fact she lied. :/

I applied to other positions as a MA *it pays more...less stress and it seems promising* and I have some friends trying to help me in another hospital for the ICU *where I want to be*

So I have to give her an answer by tomorrow morning...

Should I turn this position down and wait for another?... -le sigh-
