Class Schedules at Chamberlain

Nursing Students Chamberlain College

Published

Hi All,

Just recently got accepted into the Chamberlain Nursing Program, wanted to see if anyone knew what the class schedule looked like once you're in the upper division and start going to clinicals? Is it M-F or just a few days a week? As for clinical sites, do you get to choose?

I am a Chamberlain Grad I never had a M-F schedule there are class days and clinical days Class can be Tues Thursday and Clinical a day other than Tues Thursday but you will have other gen eds and classes to take either online or in class And No most likely you will not pick your clinical I never did once in the program.

Good to know! Thank you.

Were you able to work at all during the program?

Eh I disagree. I think it depends on the campus. At the Houston campus, the first semester of upper level courses (Patho, Health Assessment, Fundamentals) you are on campus/clnical 4-5 days a week. The first half of the semester: M/W-Fundamentals lecture, T-health assessment lecture, W-Patho,T or W- fundamentals lab, Th-health assessment lab. The second half fundamentals lab is replaced with a clinical day on Friday or Saturday since they're the only days you don't have class scheduled. As you progress in the program the amount of time spent on campus does decrease drastically though. I'm finishing up community health next week and we only have class on Monday plus clinical (which was all over the place due to the different settings we got to rotate through)

Thank you for your input. Were you able to work at all during upper division?

I worked during the Gen eds and then very part time throughout the program There were people who worked full time throughout the program but they generally were the ones who were held back at least one class or had poor test scores I think the other poster was correct about the beginning of the program It's been at least 3 years since I was in Health Assessment and Fundamentals I just remember most of my classes were online and I only went on campus for core nursing classes

I have worked the entire program and so have other classmates of mine. It really just depends on your company and if they are willing to work with your schedule.
