hard work

i work wkends in an ED - i do charge - so for the most part - unless we are totally slamming - i can take it easy-but the more i think about it - the more i think that 7 days a wk - non-stop cannot help my learning agenda!!

i was reading one of the posts that spoke of a "onebank" (???) loan that loans up to 30k/hr - same as federal loan - no accrued interest until 4 years w/ a mo grace period - sounds like it might be a better idea!!

are you currently in school/graduated?!?!

i have always had an easy time in school - but i am getting the idea this is going to take effort - which i am definately up for!

Are you refering to being able to work a lot while in crna school?

If so , good luck most will tell you that it is hard to work much at all once the crna program hits full swing. I just started a program where the first semester mostly consist of courses to fulfill the MSN requirements. nevertheless it still 16 hours of graduate school work. I probably could work 2-4 eigth hours shifts ia month if I really pushed myself. However, next semester when I start the core of the crna program, I have been advised to not work at all, course work and clinicals could be as much as 60 hours a week, therefore if you are thinking of working a lot through an anesthesia program be advised for the majority of students it is not practical, so look into loans like everyone else.

Anthony gives up some good advice. I have a number of friends who worked occasionally when they first started their programs. But as there programs progressed they dropped off the face of the earth! I am also pretty sure that there are those on this BB who have worked a little throughout their entire education so it can be done. I know my limitations and I am in no way that tough, so it will be loans for me! Speaking of loans, the Bank One loan accrues interest from the day you take it out. The interest is deferred untill after you graduate. Most other non-Federal (private) loans require you to pay the interest on a monthly basis while you are attending school. I am not sure, but I suppose that if you defer your interest on a private loan that interest compounds until you are in repayment. Maybe SCHMEGGA could shed some light on this topic?

Here's the website for the education loan.

Working and anesthesia school are two things that don't mix. I suggest to skip the work and focus on school. The extra money may not be worth the time away from the books.

after reading all the threads - it is sounding like 24hr/wk isn't such an attainable goal!! perhaps per diem will have to do.
