Hi Everyone!

I was recently accepted to start the Distance Nurse Midwifery program at U of C this January! I am so excited to finally start the journey to my passion and dream job. I was hoping to reach out and see if there were any others starting at the same time?

I would love to be in touch with my peers and frankly vent about our current stress and excitement! Can't wait to register for classes this month

well I applied to univ of cinn in aug but I was told to get stuff in closer to my grad. I graduated oct 22. I had started to submit my stuff oct and the advisor told me I had everything but I really did not so she called me to submit stuff again that she later found. my application was complete by nov 21, 2014. I was told 4-6 weeks I have not heard anything yet? Im concerned classes are next month and Im still waiting. Its been officially two weeks but still it seems like forever. someone told me its cause of the time of the year I applied I do not really know. thank god I have always networked and i have ob preceptors and midwives I have relationships with I will be fine with that. They have already started to contact people for me in the city of phila for clinicals but I told them to wait til I get my letter. I hope I get my letter soon. thanks for all your help renee.

Hi Nursing School Diva!

I hope you hear back soon on your admission to U of Cin ! Waiting can be stressful, but I think like Renee said, it is most likely due to the time of year and lots of admissions coming in. I see that you mentioned having OB and midwives from work to precept you. I also was hoping to precept with midwives I work with, but I spoke with the program director and was told you are not allowed to precept at your place of employment whether it be a hospital or a clinic. I just wanted to tell you that so you don't wait find alternatives. I have started to reach out to midwives informally just to see their willingness to take students and availability, but once we start in January then we will get the contract information to actually give them. I am looking forward to getting all of that solidify since it truly is the most stressful part. Good luck to you though, and let us know when you get your acceptance notification! I got mine in email and then a letter!
