I'm not new to online learning, and honestly, I think I prefer it over classroom learning because I love feeling the internal motivation to learn stuff at my own pace by class deadlines. I am wondering, though, what to expect from preceptorship. These are probably really dumb questions, so bare with me, but being 3 years away from even stepping foot into graduate school, I want to research all that I can from every source that I can so I go into this fully prepared.

How is preceptorship measured? Is it by number of hours? Number of births? I honestly don't know. Also, is there ever any ability to have a paid preceptorship? (I'm pretty sure I already know the answer to that one, but I figured I would ask.) Have any of you worked as an RN while attending school for CNM? How did you balance it? How much time do you commit to preceptorship in any given week?

I'm thinking about Georgetown online since it is so close, doesn't require the year of work experience, and is 18-24 months long. Is anyone doing that this year? Would love to hear about experiences with it.
