Although I love allnurses.com it doesn't help me much in respect to learning about my job as a Utilization Review RN. I found a website that focuses on this specialty: www.rncasemanager.com I hope I can find more people on this website that can answer my questions pertaining to my job. I will come to allnurses from time to time to read the interesting topics since I'm already addicted to this website and it's hard for me to let go. :lol2:

if you have a specific question related to work you need to ask... otherwise you may not find answers you seek on this particular forum because it is not very active in comparison to other forums on allnurses....

Thank you MBARNBSN. One of the questions I had in mind was taking CEUs relating to my new job. I deal with Managed Care and want to better understand about Medi-Cal, Medicare, what is IPA?, etc... The company had used Interqual before, but now we use Milliman Guidelines to determine if a specific case meets criteria and if it's medically necessary.

By the way, how long did it took you to learn the ropes of being a case manager and be comfortable being on your own? There is so much to memorize that I don't know where to start.
