Looking for telephonic CM job

by lglenn

I'm looking for a job doing telephonic case management in Houston, preferably predominantly home based. Any ideas? I am very flexible about the type or specialization as have 27 years of acute care experience with both adults and pedi.

Maybe you could surf different papers in the county to see who is hiring for that. I am employed by a Maryland company but live in Ohio so maybe scouring national papers would be a good idea.

Default Telephone CM
Look at United Health care web site, they are nation wide company. I would also enjoy a at home position but this is office based. The good news is the pay is good and benfit package is great.

I started doing telephonic case management for a healthcare company a month ago, and I HATE it! Documenting cost savings and improving outcomes is one thing, but telemarketing is definitely another!

I called my former supervisor today and asked for my old job back.

Question: Is Case Management the same as a Utilization Manager?
If so...why did you /do you hate it? My backgroung LTC with no experience in managed care. Trying to learn about it though. Including typical pay rate for UM (??) ... Thanks.
