National University LVN-to-BSN 2015 cohort 7

U.S.A. California

Hello, I've recently applied to National to their LVN bridge program, still waiting on the date for TEAS and the essay. But I still have a lot of classes to do with their recent changes :-( which is frustrating, they just changed on us at the last minute. My advisor is not the smartest one either, she keeps forgetting what program I'm going for:-)

And I don't know anyone else who applied to the same cohort, anybody out there just as lucky?:-)

Seriously?? So what's the 2.75 GPA requirement??

Also, does the cum GPA count at all or just the science based GPA in conjunction with the other requirements?

Oh I guess they changed it to 2.75! I think my overall GPA was 3.9 as well. I remember I got a B+ in sociology and A- in biomedical statistics and the rest were solid A's. So, when you apply you must have an overall GPA above 2.75 then once you submitted your application they will look at your science GPA.

Ok...I think I confused you some. I was referring to the Nursing program cum GPA requirement. Awesome thank you for replying! I have a 3.3 But I havent taken my soc class yet so I'm sure it will help...do you know of anyone who got in with a 3.3 and a high TEAS score?

I've gotten A's in everything. But my micro and AP were transferred in when I went to Midd Tenn Uni and I got Bs in those classes unfortunately! :-(

Yeah lol okay so the classes they'll be looking at is A and P 1&2, microbiology and biomedical statistics. All the other classes are not going to be looked at but must be taken in order to apply. I personally have not known any get in with a 3.3 but that doesn't mean you won't make it! The lowest science GPA I've seen is 3.6 and an 80 on the TEAS. If your teas score is high and you do very well on the essay, you'll have a high chance on getting in.

OMG now I'm scared!! I'm going to have to score high on the TEAS...I ran into a couple of girls once that had already begun classes and I recall one of them saying she had a low GPA compared to others (3.2 I think)but her TEAS was an 87 or something I was wondering what was the lowest GPA score for the cohort you're in now that's why asked...I'm going work my butt off for a good TEAS score and essay it will be my savior...lol!

Thanks for replying!

Good luck!!

I haven't started classes yet but I will let you know when I find out. Thank you! And good luck to you as well =)

Does anybody know about what documents, or other requirements, we need to bring to orientation? I got the email from ----------------, that there were documents to bring; but since I'm an alternate I probably didn't get that email.

Hi aelyn! We need:

- a copy of cpr card

- proof of mal practice insurance

- proof of health insurance

- updated immunization

- physical exam

- HIPPA release form read and signed (it came with the email JJ sent out)

- completed department survey (emailed)

- release of records form (emailed)

Thanks for the info Honeymcbadger! I was freaking out because I didn't know whether we needed all these documents by orientation, even if were alternates. I just hope that if by chance I get accepted, they won't need all these documents right then at orientation since. Where are you guys getting mal practice insurance from?

You're welcome! If they didn't email you about the documents, they shouldn't penalize you for it. It's always a good idea to be prepared in case you did want to get them done. I know they said we HAVE to get all the paper works done by orientation but my nursing friends said well get an extension. We just have to make sure they're done when we start clinicals. Oh but I think we have to have our background check and drug test before orientation. And I got my insurance from NSO. I got the LVN coverage with RN student under it. Well I hope you make it im sure you will since there's some people declining. If you have anymore questions just feel free to ask =)
