LA County Interview--what to expect?

U.S.A. California

Published

It's been a long time since I've posted, mostly because I've been so put off by not finding a job. April marked a year since I got my LVN license with no interviews at all until last month I got a letter in the mail from USC LA County. I was completely convinced it was a really late rejection letter (I applied WAY back in July 2010!), but it was a letter asking for an interview.

I'm really excited and really nervous at the same time. Most county positions tell you if there's an exam of some sort, but this one doesn't say. It's for a clinic position and all it says is that the interview includes a physical wellness type of exam. If I pass the interview/exam I will be put on the list of eligible people to be hired by the county.

Is there anything I should know before I go to this interview? Anyone else work for county know if there's a med test? Dosage? What should I be looking at to prepare properly for this opportunity?

Thanks in advance!

I don't know what is going to be on the LVN test. When I took the test for RN 1 about 4 years ago the only thing that I remember was that there was some basic things like reading comprehension and simple math questions. The list that you are trying to get on is only to be able to apply for any available county position. From there you have to apply to open positions and then you will get interviewed for that position. I just checked the list of available openings for LVNs and there are only two at this time and they are not at USC LA County. Good luck.

I did apply for an open position and the letter I got stated it was related to the position I applied for as a clinic LVN. The letter was from USC LAC because they are linked, but the position I applied for wasn't a USC position.

If it's just basic math and comprehension I'm not worried one bit. Thanks for easing my worries. :)

Good luck with the interviews. Please let me know about the tests and what is on there. I am also applying for a position with LAC. I haven't seen the test in more than 4 years but I remember that it was easy when I did take it.
