Fremont-Rideout Hospital??

U.S.A. California

Published

Hi. Does anyone work or is anyone familiar with either Fremont Hospital in Yuba City, CA or Rideout Hospital in Marysville, CA? Are these good hospitals to learn and to be trained in as a new grad RN? Also, what is the pay for new grads? I'm new to the area so I am not at all familiar with these hospitals. I know they just had another strike a couple of weeks ago though. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. :nuke:

That hospital group is in the midst of labor trouble. They just had a 10 day lock out by management with no contract in sight. Nurses are not happy.

Don't confuse a management lockout with a strike... management LOCKED NURSES OUT.

You might want to avoid that situation...

My friend worked at Fremont over the summer in the well baby nursery. She says that her manager has an agreement with her staff, and pretty much all the labor nurses come in now because there is no union currently. It wouldn't be my first choice of a place to work because a lot of the nurses do not speak English and I am really into couplet care, which Yuba does not offer. New grads start around $30-35 an hour there because noone wants to work there. However, I have friends starting in the ER at Marysville-Rideout and they seem to like it. I will do my last clinical rotation there as well so I will tell you how it goes...

Good luck!
