Has anyone attended PMI or know someone who has? I've noticed they have a nursing program (RN) and wanted advice.

thats somewhat true, Im in A&P right now. Ive taken it before, but the A&P at PMI is geared more towards nursing. Its more concepts they teach about.

But if you took english 101 before or math, then you can have those credits transfered and grade to PMI and you don't get charged for it. However, A&P is the exception.

I was at their info session yesterday and they emphasized the fact they have a physician and nurse teaching the A&P class. I was already planning on retaking it through the community college because it's been several years. My question to you is how is the teaching by a physician going? I took A&P from MCC several years ago and at the time they hired a physician from out of the country and she didn't speak very good english and due to some problem couldn't start teaching on the date the class started so we had several different teachers filling in.

yes the physican speaks perfect english.

He is a excellent teacher and makes class very fun and enjoyable. Just show up on time and to his class every day. You gotta study for his tests alot cause they can be tricky. So its not that much different from any other instructor.

Specializes in OB/Peds/Med-Surg.

I go to The Ethel Bauer School of Nursing, and I really like it. I'm in my 4th out of 5 blocks--it's an 18 month program for ADN. Currently, Grand Canyon University and U of P accept our credits, but after the first group finishes, it is expected that the other universities will accept our credits as well. The great thing about school like PMI and EBSN is that they're fast, less wait-listed (or at least they were) and it seems like there is better one-on-one attention than that of the Maricopa system schools. Although my school is expensive, I figure waiting on the lottery list for entry into a Maricopa school I'd end up having to pay more in bills/loans than just finishing quick and getting out there to work. Let the hospitals pay for my BSN or MSN.

yea i do like the one on one attention as well. After debating with my family. I felt the extra tuition will be worth it because I don't have to wait for a stupid lottery and be pretty much finished with my bachelers by the time I finish the regular RN program at MCC. There is plenty of people wanting to be nurses, but the schools won't have enough instructors for the students. I know that their are certain instructors that look "attractive" because they might have a MSN or something in nursing, however, we can all say that doesn't automatically make them a excellent teacher.
