No More Gateway LPN Program??

U.S.A. Arizona

Published

So I just turned down a spot in the August class at Maricopa Skill Center because my plan was to go to Gateway for the LPN Fast Track in Jan for 4k less.. Well, my sister (who goes to MSC) said she heard (and I verified this with a MSC advisor, but couldnt get ahold of a Gateway advisor) that Gateway is no longer offering the LPN program!

Has anyone else heard of this or have any other info?

I am so bummed cause if I had known this a week ago, I could be in nursing school right now, but at least they put me in the Jan class...

Well, I am technically on hold right now. My mom is going to finish nursing school and by the time she is done my little one will be entering school. Then it will be my turn. I will see what she says about her school when she is done and make my decision then. In the meantime, I will get my CNA and maybe take some pre-req's online. Part of me really wants to do the Gateway fast track LPN and go back for my RN later down the road when my kids are almost grown. But, then on the otherhand, I think about just going to a private ADN program and just getting it over with. Im not in a spot to make a definite decision so I will cross that bridge when I get to it.....

thanks sassiebaz, yes i will definitely be asking them about the lpn to rn. if i remember correctly you have a certain amount of time after graduation that you have to submit your application by in order to transfer into block 3 of the rn program. i think i also read it online somewhere. I'll try and find the info.

I think that your sister is my buddy at MSC. I hate this school. One of our teachers is awesome. The culinary school provides us with some good eats. Other than that this school is not what I thought that it would be. But the wait is shorter and it does get you to block three. Good luck. Just for laughs are your sister's initials AD?
