CEP Point System

U.S.A. Arizona

Published

Hi,

I met with a nursing advisor yesterday, and was explained the point system. I forgot to ask him though what the average points are, for the people getting into the CEP program. I am specifically looking for the Glendale weekend program, but would like to hear from anybody if they happen to know. I am trying to think of how many points I need to be competitive.

Thanks.

Hi,

They never got back with me on the average score. I put my name on the list for the Gateway evening non-CEP program, but also plan to study and re-take my HESI to see if I can score high enough to get me in the 20 point range to try and get in earlier and into the weekend program, which is what would work best for me.

There is a post on the Maricopa nursing Facebook page with people already in the program saying what their points would have been using the new rubric. Very helpful.

Hi Jen91! I'm applying to the CEP program this January as well! I truly hope you get in!❤️ Same to you Sayla. Also, AmyAnn00: if they have multiple people with the same amount of points, then they start looking at exact GPA to break the tie. So yes, two people with a 3.6 GPA and a 4.0 can have the same points, but if there is a tie the 4.0 will win.

Thank you Kandyce. I wish all of us will be accepted this time. What is your status? Are you done with your hesi and all the prerequisites?

Yes...I totally agree with you that they have created the point system to select the top students easily, and then they will further break down the gpa, hesi score, and the previous degree. A student with a 4.00 gpa, 98% English composite or math score, and a Master's degree holder will be prioritized over the student who has 3.65 gpa, 95% English composite or math score, and an Associate degree (even though initially both of them receive exactly same points). So, students who have 4.00 gpa, and higher degree in their pockets should not get mad at othersí ½í¹„

I just messaged the placement team and they said it was going to be released on the first
