Hi, Ive been working for years now on getting my work visa to go work in the US. I have written and passed the NCLEX, gotten my RN licence for the state of Georgia, and have a job offer. All I need now, or so I thought, was the work visa. I figured on getting the TN visa since it is much simpler and doesnt require an immigration attorney. I guess I have two questions. My first is if anyone has a template for the job offer letter so I can provide it to my employer.
My second is that I noticed on another topic someone saying we need the Visascreen for the TN visa. Nowhere on the immigration website does it say anything about Visascreen being a requirement. I do have my Credentials evaluation service completed, but since Georgia BON gave me my licence without VS being finished, I didnt see the point in spending money and time on it for nothing. Can anyone tell me if 100% the VS is necessary, and if so, where this information is located? Can it be that it was required for these people only for their respective BON? I really need some answers ASAP because if all goes as planned, I will be getting the visa sometime this week. Please help!!
    Thanks for any info!

  4. As far as I know, any Canadian citizen wanting to work in the US needs to get their Visa Screen. I'm pretty sure it's a requirement in order to get a TN visa. You can apply for it on the CGFNS website. It does require you to request transcripts, license validations, etc. so it is a lengthy process. I applied for mine at the beginning of last November and finally received my Visa Screen certificate at the end of January. Hope this helps and good luck!
  5. Wow, well you are lucky...I have been trying to get my Visascreen certificate for around 2 years. It took so long to get things done by them that it expired and I had to pay to get it reactivated. I have paperwork that was sent by my order of nurses back in mid april, and they only added it to my file a week or so ago. They take so long to get things done, and I can not afford to wait on them anymore!
