Immigration help for a nursing PhD candidate

Hello dear colleagues,

First, I would like to thank this awesome forum that helped me a lot in clarifying many confusing issues I had about nursing in the United States. I used to read the threads as a guest till the moment has come and then I registered to be one of this great community. So thank you all for having me in your network.

Second, I will describe my status as an international graduate student here at the U.S. I am currently working on my PhD dissertation in nursing at the University of Kentucky. I also got my master's degree in nursing from the University of Virginia in 2013 but have not applied for the CNS certificate yet. My bachelor's degree in nursing science was obtained from Jordan in 2007. I passed the NCLEX recently and I sent all the required documents for the VisaScreen which would take 4-6 weeks to review my application (as being told by the assigned reviewer). I also applied for the Full-time pre-completion OPT and I expect to get in in January 2017. I am now looking for a job that hopefully will sponsor me for the EB-2 or for a work visa. As you may know, the OPT is valid for 12 months only. So my question is, what are your advices for me to get sponsored for EB-2 or work visa? And who knows a good attorney that won't charge me an arm and a leg who can help with the immigration process?

Thank you for reading my post and I am looking forward for your inputs.

Usually the employer hiring you uses their immigration lawyer to process papers but you may need to ask locally for a lawyer to act on your behalf. Many are ok just using employer's lawyer. Start talking to employers when looking for jobs re immigrant or work visa

I am trying to find a good lawyer in my city since I have not gotten any job offer yet. Thank you for your response!
