What's with ...

... all the rash or articles with named submitters? Is there some sort of new WGU program where you have to publish under your own name or something? We have always heard from TPTB here that we must post anonymously, so something must be up.

    I know GrnTea is very disdainful of WGU, so everything s/he says about it, I read with that filter.

    Well, after how they treated me, I guess I should no longer have anything good to say about them either. I used to be a proponent when they first appeared on the scene, but the disorganization and lack of advisor competence did me in.

    Yeah, that's kind of how I've felt about many of them as well. I feel like, with a lot of them, like it's a nurse writing for the laypeople, rather than a nurse writing for other nurses. Superficial is a good way to put it. Contrived is another way I would put it.

I am not encouraging public evaluation of individual writers, but please feel free to pm me with your comments as I value your input re. which articles you like or where you see need for improvement.     As far as those articles that I personally felt were valuable, resonated with me, etc, are those that address real world issues or questions that nurses and students have - particularly Commuter's articles I've found very helpful and informative.

    I'm glad there is a low cost online option like WGU for those who want or need a BSN though I haven't used them for a BSN. With the high cost of college tuition a low priced option is wonderful and necessary and I like the flexibility and go at your own pace option! If I ever need a BSN they are probably the route I would take unless I had a free scholarship to a brick and mortar college. lol

    I totally agree with this. We try to highlight these informative and helpful threads in our newsletters and facebook pages.

    Many of our members provide very good content.

    I've wondered that as well. Especially since so many of the articles seem rather superficial.
