I took this quiz (http://www.vark-learn.com/english/page.asp?p=questionnaire) a few minutes ago and the results seemed to be pretty spot on. It says I am multimodal (a mixture of the catagories, aprox 60% of the population is multi's) and the helpsheets were pretty informative. Im going to implement the things I didnt already use into my study habits next semester.
What kind of learner are you?

According to the questionnaire, I have a strong Read/Write learning preference. That was my highest score. Surprisingly, I scored low in visual. I like seeing and drawing pictures.

This was interesting. I like a variety of styles but to prefer to learn from written text and instructions.
You have a mild Read/Write learning preference.
Your scores were:
Visual: 2
Aural: 4
Read/Write: 7
Kinesthetic: 3

It said I was "multi-modal", which I kinda believe--seems like if I get the info in several different ways, I retain it better.

The test said:
Visual 6
Aural 2
Read/Write 4
Kinesthetic 4
I am a mild visual learner.
I do know I am visual. If I forget a word, I often 'see' it in my head and actually read it off like it was on a chalkboard. I also 'see' my notes in my head during a test because I use lots of color and layout...now, if my writing hadn't gotten so messy lately...

I'm definitely a kinesthetic learner---if I can't get my hands in it, I don't learn things as fast. I can read a book and follow instructions, but it's far better for me to see something done and then have someone walk me through the process.
My mother used to think there was something wrong with me because I couldn't retain information that I didn't read or see for myself. She'd read me letters from my aunts and get frustrated with me when I didn't recall what had been read to me. Yet, if I read the letters myself, I had no problem discussing them later. I didn't realize until college that I was this sort of learner, and that it was just another learning style.......it didn't mean I was defective.:stone

Same here. I hated being read to in school because I couldn't retain the information but I love to read. I have to see the words to comprehend.
