UTMB Spring 2010

Yeah fumbling a lil through my words but overall not too bad! I didn't get that question Ms. Sealy but she did ask me how my life would change with the nursing program?! I just answered the best i could. Good luck everybody!

Mine went good.....same questions as the thread said. I asked how many applied and how many got in she said out of 200 or so there are 70 slots which is great to me. She said the comittee meets Monday to hopefully make the final cut and we should know something via regular mail within a week or so

Hey guys my phone interview went really good! At least I think, It was pretty hard to tell bc I could not see her reaction in person to the questions I was answering! Well Good luck to you all :)

It's was really cool meeting you ms sealy, put a face to the name :) Helped to calm the nerves talking to everyone who was just as nervous.

I was 100% prepared. I had made my throat sore literally yesterday practicing my answers out loud to myself from 10am-6pm! She asked me everything I had prepared for, or it was worded differently and I could grab an answer from something else I had. I was just honest, positive, and very enthusiastic. She was a nice lady, Ms. Lacy.

Such a relief, i really thought I was gonna choke cause I'm usually kinda quiet and nervous but it was awesome!

At the end she said "okay so I am marking you down as ADMIT!" AHHHHH!!!! She said official word will come in 2-3weeks. but hey that's official enough for me! It was in Pen! haha

I hope It was just as great for all of you! We all deserve it! (ms_sealy was I not the only one who wanted that girl next to you to leave lol not to be rude but if you dont want it dont be there, her mommy made her hahaha, i was mad cause one of the great people on here could have had her chance...hopefully they'll get her spot)

yeah..that girl next to me was too funny when she said I didn't want to interview , "but my Mommie made me!"

She said ADMIT!!! Congrats alkat!! ... I know you are so relieved..

my interviewer didn't say that..she made references like "we will use your computer skills and stop by to see me when you are on campus"..stuff like that, but who knows they may all say that to everyone and then say NO and blame the committee!

I was able to calm down too once I realized that the four of us practically knew each other! You tripped me out when you said "are you ms sealy?" I looked at you like you were Ms. Cleo ("call me now!") lol I forgot I told everyone what I would be wearing!

Albkat, i'm SOO jealous of you!! i've had such a hectic week i didn't have much time to practice for my interview. I fumbled a bit and rambled on too. ugh. but it was bad for my first interview ever. The chances seem so slim! I'm so nervous!! ugh. stupid friday the 13th!!!

Hi everyone! My inteview went well. I actually enjoyed it (which is unusual). All we can do now is hope for the best. "Whatever will be..will be." I am still so impressed by the staff and how nice everyone is. UTMB is THE school for me...I am sure of it!! Hope everyone else had a great time as well!

I really loved UTMB, but getting stuck in traffic on teh way back is making me question if it is really the right place for me...

I was on my way to work when I posted yesterday so I didn't get to 'really' post haha...

I'm glad that everyone seemed to have done well! Luckily our group while waiting were joking around and that really helped us stop being so nervous. My interviewer was really nice, it was kind of frustrating at the beginning, she put a 'in an interview' sign on the door, and people kept calling her, so she switched her phone to voicemail, so then they would come by and knock on the door! how rude!! (but, she kept apologizing, so it kind of felt like it helped me, because we had something to laugh about for the first 10 minutes or so).

Once the interview started though, I surprisingly felt at ease. I was nervous but not nearly as nervous as I thought I would be. I was very prepared, and I felt that I looked 'professional' (I went out to lunch with my dad afterward and he almost didn't recognize me walking into the restaurant haha!). Overall it went very well. The only concern I have is that I was talking A LOT. I wonder if I talked TOO much. She even (jokingly) made a comment about how 'its a good thing I'm not afraid to talk to strangers', then I responded 'I don't know a stranger' and she laughed...I think its ok. She also said she could tell by the way I think that I compartmentalize a lot, and that I must be very organized. I then pulled out my little notebook that I write everything in (to-do lists, 'bills paid' checklists, school exams and assignments, etc...). She then said, 'you would make a good critical care nurse, they are all OCD' haha. Overall, we had a very good rapport. I was scared I would get a mean interviewer, or someone that didn't care that this interview will decide MY FUTURE.

At the end she said she definitely recommends me for admission and she circled ADMIT!!! I think I'm in!!!
