Hey everyone! Just checking in with y'all! Things seem to be moving along pretty quickly! I am still looking for a place in Galveston. There are things I really like and really don't like about everything I have seen. With my budget I know I am not going to get much. My main concern is that I want to feel safe. I am nervous about having a roommate because I have heard some HORROR stories about roommates from my friends-lol. I was thinking about just signing a 6 month lease somewhere so that once we get to school and everyone gets to know each ohter etc. I might find some possible roommates.

hey Katielou07 thanks. well rt now I am thinking that I want to find somewhere in between galveston and Houston but I have not found any where either. If I have to I will get somewhere on the Island. I hope to go down and look by the end of the week but not to sure. I want to find somewhere some what reasonable also, but it is a challenge. I know for sure the class schedule but for the clinicals and labs when would we be meeting? I called a couple of places, newport cove they are reasonable but Idk wht they look like in person.

What are the other two class times then? I know somebody posted a couple of them... I don't think we'll know the clinical times for awhile.

My friend who also got into the program with us has a friend there in her 3rd semester. She told me that before cliniclas started she drove to galveston 3-4 times a week and then once clinicals started she was primarily in the med center. You have to remember that after Ike the facilities arent just there to accomodate all of us. The laday that interviewed me said "now you better be comfortable driving to Houston for most of your clinicals because for instance we dont even have but 8 PEDS neds that are up and running right now from Ike" So.....i am happy I live in the med center because I hope this is where I spend the most time but i guess we wont know till we start.

I got CPR certified in April of this year, but the lady didn't sign one of the cards...so when I did my CNA at COM, they almost didn't take it. I'll talk to D about it, but I want to make sure I have an option if I DO have to take it again...
