It is almost impossible to get rid of a tenured teacher. They would pretty much have to abuse a student with several witnesses.

TBH, it's hard to get rid of a non-tenured teacher also. My sister was dept head for a while and a first year teacher got caught (via facebook) calling in and then checking in flying to New York or going to a White Sox game. Blew through all her allotted PTO and had to take non paid time off and she was simply put on probation.

This does not make me grumpy. But y'all...

My AP introduced me today, it does leave mild bitter after taste but apparently its better on ice.

What will they come up with next? (I am fully aware that this product has probably been on the market for years and that I gave just been living under a rock, but I was amazed nonetheless.)

I spent my day yesterday being grumpy. Got registration forms on 2 new students, no health issues listed at all. Signed off and filed their forms. Come to find out later in the day one is completely deaf and the other is in a wheelchair with a CP dx. Registrar said that if the parent didn't write the information on the form, she can't force them to do it. When I asked if the students were there during registration she said yes. Well then, if you saw them, why wouldn't you let us know? Um, not my job to let you know. Grrrrrrr, I was ready to walk out. This is a regular occurrence with her.

Recently I sent a kid back to class who tried that line on me. Frequent flyer. No fever, seemed fine. She texted her mom from class and went home anyway. Defeats the whole purpose of my job.

I also have lots of kiddos who text their parents about how terribly sick they are, never visit the heath office, and the parent calls me to find out what's going on. Well HTH would I know?

Kids don't know how to use the phone.

They can't use a NON smart phone. A. Regular. Phone.

I have to show high school students. How to use the phone. To call their Moms. Who are waiting at home. To pick them up for. Their FAKE ILLNESSES!!!
