My med-surg textbooks are long since gone. Teach me about thyroid problems, especially enlarged thyroid gland--symptoms, tests, treatments, etc. Got any reputable online resources?

The only on-line resource that I fully trust is the National Institute of Health (http://www.nih.gov/), enjoy.

I'm confused - seriously, I am not being a smart a$$.
You have a BSN and 18 years experience. You have been a member since 2005. I'm having trouble understanding why you didn't just do a google search. Surely you are aware of the typical response on this board for just asking for someone to feed you information. I completely get it that just because someone has a BSN does not imply they have a great understanding of all disease pathology but I would expect an experienced nurse to look up the information themselves.
What am I missing?

I would guess this is for personal use?
I was thinking the same but...I guess I would look it up myself rather then rely on information from someone who may or may not know what they are talking about (you have to admit - we have seen some really scary posters in the past). Again, I'm not being disrespectful. Just confused.

I have Graves Disease. What do you want to know? I mean REALLY know---not what a textbook or a website will tell you!
Ah ha....now this makes sense to me. :)

Just guessing that NascarNurse meant that your post may have hit on the reason why the OP asked the question - not to gain textbook information but for answers from those with personal experience.

This is why I have gotten away from this board, all the attacking. Seriously, is that REALLY necessary?? Who really cares, if she wants to post this? Guess if people want to know something, they must first post the disclaimer that it is for personal reasons, but I'm afraid she would STILL be attacked, because you see it all the time on here.
