Student found using RN,BSN behind their name

Just looking for some guidance. I am definitely trying to be discreet and anonymous, as I don't want to hinder someone's goals.

I begin a BSN program in a week. We are on a group chat with others in my cohort. I have caught one person in lies, several times. This person says they are basically a doctor on one social media account and on another of their social media accounts, has the letters RN, BSN behind their name. We are in a Prelicensure BSN program, meaning that we have no prior nursing degree.

*Edited to add that I checked my BON for licenses in this person's name and there are none.

Do I just ignore this and live and let live?

Thanks in advance for any guidance.

This was my first reaction, just wanted to check. Typically everything comes up for air eventually.

Thank you

I wouldn't waste time on this. If you decide to do anything, I think the proper course would be to send a private message to this person, and let her know that she probably should be careful about this since it is illegal.

Everybody is a doctor on the internet. Some of us also write books on number theory and were selected for the upcoming space mission.

I tend to have a bit of fun with those people, if I acknowledge them at all.

I'm writing this from my Dolce and Gabbana yacht, by the way. ?

I wouldn't worry about it, but neither would I get involved with this person in any scholastic or personal ways. If you stay far away you won't get splattered on when the you-know-what hits the fan...

You have already spent more of your time (emotional energy) on this than you should have.

It isn't so much a matter of letting live as recognizing that you could choose to spend a great deal of your time this way--there will be many other situations where someone somewhere may or may not be doing what they're supposed to be doing--but is that a way to live? I leave that to you but I don't think so.

And a second matter of personal opinion: The chat groups with others in the cohort. Sounds like a lot of downside for negligible benefit.

Anyway, good luck. Probably best to put your head down and just work hard. ??

I have worked with nurses from other countries that have in fact been Doctors in their home country but didn't want to go through the process of licensing here. I would just assume something like that and don't worry about. Not your problem!

WOW You were selected for the next space mission also. What are the odds that two nurses on this site would be pick for the space mission?

It's BSN, RN not RN, BSN.

So yeah. Definitely call the police.

I’d probably tell them in private that they could probably get in trouble if the instructors see them presenting themselves as a licensed nurse while as a student so they could correct themselves without a huge scene with their teachers.

The police don't even want to be bothered if a nurse gets urinated on buy an ER patient. I doubt if they will care if someone is saying they are a nurse, and they aren't one.
