Not sure if you've been told this by anyone, if so apologies now.
I notice that when I'm skyping to my fiance in France, if he's downloading big files... it affects the sound quality on the microphone on your headset. It just comes out as annoying waves of bleeps/sound. So whoever you're speaking to on skype, ask them if they are D/L whilst speaking to you. Ask them to stop it while skyping you. You should notice a difference.
Good luck.
Well, I've give up on skype, tried everything but still no clear connection!!

Can't understand why you're having such trouble, we've used it for over a year to & from FL with absolutely no problems. Must surely be a problem with your kit, connection or something. Is there no tech support you can call on?
Having said that I agree that to some extent MSN is just as good but I didn't think you could use it to call landlines like you can with Skype, with MSN the person has to also have a computer & MSN registration. At least that's what I thought but it may have changed.
Hope you get it sorted out soon anyhow.

no, you are right, you cant call landlines with it but if the other person has got msn it works quite well as an alternative to skype, if you cant get skype to work
i use both, skype is very good, but i do have a few problems with it sometimes, but only since ive had my new computer

Even a ludite like has managed to use msn and even managed to train the inlaws up to using it in prep for the big move well impressed they are what the magic box can do
Sounds like you're going to be confiled to MSN then April!! It will do the job quite well enough - just have to make sure your relatives are registered.
Let us know how it gets sorted.
Thing is I wanted it so that I could make cheap international calls to landlines to people who didn't have access to the internet. It's frustrating!
