Hello Everyone!!

I am so glad that I found this thread. I have been involved with the Scrippts thread and we have all been such a support system for one another through the interview process and the job offers. I hope this thread will be the same thing.

I too was stressed that I had not even recieved an email confirming my applications. Glad to hear that most everyone was in the same boat. I must say that it took me forever to complete that question section of the application.

BSN, Orange County

Hello Fellow Scripps threader...lol Today was a real bummer but I too applied to SHARP! We shall keep our fingers crossed :) Maybe this hospital will work out better for us :)

Just to answer one of the previous stated ?s I am in the inland empire, went to LVN school in SD and RN school in Ontario. :nurse:

Another fellow Scripps threader checking in. :) I agree. Hopefully Sharp will work out better for us.

I have a BSN and an MSN. I'm originally from CA but am currently out of state.

Can someone explain what you mean by internal candidates? If you are a new grad, how can you already work there? Do you mean people who are working as CNAs or volunteering at Sharp? I just don't know how you can really do that while you're in nursing school, especially if you don't live in San Diego. :-)

Exactly. There are tons of RN's working as CNA's and volunteers as well as other positions at Sharp. I know a few people who worked one or two days a week as CNA's during school to get experience and they all have jobs now. They networked to get their positions. Sharp also has an internal new grad program meaning it's only open to these people (minus the volunteers). These openings were posted in January or February.

what units did everyone apply for? I did the two that had September openings (since I won't be licensed early enough for the others)

Hello everyone

I have applied for the Sharp new grad program as well. I received a phone call yesterday stating I got chosen for a panel interview! Im really excited but nervous at the same time. I am scheduled for May interviews. The potential position is for med-surge/tele at Sharp CV. I graduated from Southwestern College in 2010 and have an ADN. Any insight to the process would be greatly appreciated. Keep your heads up everyone!!

Hi all! I too applied to the Sharp New Grad program. I had actually applied to the one back in October and never got a response from them. I think they let way too many people apply. There should be a limit. What's the point of allowing 1800+ people apply if there are only 30 positions? You know what I mean? It's more work for them and more stress for us. I don't live in California so I hope that doesn't knock me down. I don't even know what they are looking for anymore, I just recently was denied from Scripps and I have my BSN, RN experience, ACLS/BLS, CA license, bilingual, and 3.8 GPA. I only say that so that people that don't have a BSN don't get discouraged cause hey, I have one and they still rejected me!!!! LOL!!!

I just want to let you guys know that with time, something will come, just keep your heads up. I know it's easier said than done, but keep your head up even after every rejection. Trust me, I have a ton of rejection emails! I'm still trucking.

And as for what units I applied for, I can't even remember! I hate how you can't go back and see what you specifically applied for.

Omg congrats mgm619!!!! Congrats!!! Im so happy for you!!!!!

Hi Everyone~ I was also on the Scripps thread and received the "no thank you" email. Sad! I'm sure it will all work out when the time is right. I also applied to Sharp (Labor and Delivery at two hospitals). Last Friday I received a call to schedule a phone interview, which was on Monday. I think it went great! The next step is an in person interview scheduled for April 6th and 7th.

I live in San Diego, went to an accelerated BSN program (finished August 2010) and completed all my clinicals within the Sharp system. I also applied last round and never recieved a call. Who knows how they select candidates.

My fingers are crossed for all of us!!!!

Im really nervous! I have no clue what to expect. I also got a phone call from SDSU saying I got accepted to the RN BSN program. How could I best prepare for the panel interview for Sharp? I want to wish everyone the best of luck and to hang on to your dreams of becoming a nurse.

That is awesome. I guess I'm out of the running then. What kind of experience do you have? Do you have any nursing experience since graduating? Did they phone interview you first? Good luck!

Your stats sound similar to mine. I have two B.S. degrees and am still getting rejections. It's so hard to figure out what each hospital is looking for. Sharp's process is so intense and drawn out and they seem to want knowledge. Scripps was a half hour interview and they didn't care too much about knowledge or scenarios, but wanted a personality.

I applied for the residency programs at Memorial and Grossmont. I also applied to the RN to BSN program. No phone calls from anyone :( I didn't think the nursing program was already calling people.
