has anyone heard anything yet?

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to drop a note for some of those that are getting discouraged. At Sharp the process is very much driven by the hiring managers of the individual units. Each unit will have their own timeline and just because you haven't received a call yet does not mean you're out of the running. During the last round of new grad applications we received emails that said we would get a call by a certain date if we were still being considered. Well, a friend of mine received a call for an interview several weeks after that deadline. I wouldn't start jumping to conclusions just yet.

Good luck to everyone!

That is awesome. I guess I'm out of the running then. What kind of experience do you have? Do you have any nursing experience since graduating? Did they phone interview you first? Good luck!

Thanks! I have no prior nursing experience since graduating last May. I have been volunteering at Flu clinics here and there for hospitals. They called just to tell me I was selected for panel interview. The lady then told me the date and location/unit it was for. Do not give up though, keep your head up!

Do you guys think they will take longer to interview the people who applied for the later programs (in Aug or Sept)? Also, for the people who were contacted, do they give you a heads up when your phone interview will be, or is it basically when they call you?

In the past, they call and schedule an appointment for the phone interview first then to a panel interview (at Memorial). It sounds like CV goes straight to the panel interview.

Still haven't heard...anyone else?

I got a position in the Winter of 2009 for the new grad program, each department does interviewing differently, the dept I got hired in called me for a panel interview, then after I passed that it was a peer interview. I have friends who got hired at the same hospital, diff dept that had phone and panel interviews, but no peer ones. So its pretty dept specific.

Good luck everyone!!

nope I have not heard anything from Sharp yet either.

I emailed a Sharp recruiter who stated that different departments/hospitals are moving at different paces. I applied for Grossmont PCU/Tele and Residency...she said those calls won't even start until mid to late April.

Keeping my fingers crossed!

Hi everyone. I am interviewing with a panel next thursday for L & D! Any advice is welcomed!

Any advice would be appreciated as well. My panel interview isn't till May 9th. What can I do to better prepare myself? Thanks again and I wish everyone the best of luck!

Nicole15, which hospital did you apply at for L&D? I applied at Grossmont. Still waiting to hear. GL with your interview! :)

Hi congrats on getting an interview!

The interview with CV was pretty intense ...maybe around 25 questions and most of them clinical! Review stuff like cardiac, respiratory and most of all postop...hope this helps and let me know if you have more questions

good luck..just smile and be yourself!
