PRESENT!

5th day of school here and my desks (I have 3 schools) look like a tornado ripped through my offices!

I'm here again! School started Tuesday and its been super busy. New 6th grade immunization requirements for our state has parents scrambling (you know because they didn't have ALL SUMMER to get their kids their shots). And the meds.....ugh.

I am here. I am a new school nurse. First day of school was August 4th. My first day AT a school was August 5th :)

I'm in! We start on 9/1 but I'm up to my neck already in Kindergarten and transfer paperwork.

We started 2 1/2 weeks ago and I'm still drowning in shot records and MMP's. Heat index in the 100's and the a/c units aren't working well. And so it begins....

Me, Me! (raises hand and waves).... At a new school and so far so good:up:

Darned if I don't keep forgetting about Pink Wednesdays though!!!!

mc3:)

I am a new school nurse and start the 29th. I am extremely nervous. Its totally different then ltc. I have been talking about school nursing for at least 4 years. I have a bigger school then I would like. I have approximately 1150 students. The kids wont be back in school until after labor day. I guess what makes me nervous is that I am an introvert which has never hindered me in other jobs except that people have a hard time figuring me out. New kid on the block and extremely nervous. I want to really do some good for the school that I am in.

Here! We don't go back till after Labor Day, however, I have already been in the office a few times....put my office back together, organized paperwork, made calls to incoming K parents letting them know that I still need immunization records or their darling child may not start, made appointments with incoming diabetic students to review their med orders and agree on a daily BG check and insulin administration schedule with the parents, I still have to make my teacher medical lists, update careplans, etc....it is going to be a busy year!

School starts Tuesday (why?????) and I haven't left all summer. I'm ready to get this started. Saltines and cough drops are locked and loaded.

I'm here! Been here doing paperwork since 8/19 but my kids came back yesterday.

Introvert...haha...enjoy it now because after your first month as a school nurse you won't remember what that feels like!! Welcome.
