  1. Watch your back, especially if more than one person tells you to.
  2. Is there more to the conversation? Otherwise, doesn't sound like anything to report.
  3. Charges should be filed for any assault, mental illness or not
  4. Do any of these colleges accept students who received their RN from a school not accredited by the NLN?
  5. Maybe "what" you were arrested for factored into the decision. Some crimes are viewed differently than others.
  6. Is PRN and Per Diem the same thing?
  7. You should report it. When that little voice in your gut speaks to you, listen to it. You just may save some kids life by doing so.
  8. Usually it's not the question that's bad. What's bad is the grammar.
  9. It was just a story on the tele so I figured I"d ask. Not about rape details per se, just the safety of that line of work for women. I'll check out the HH forum for safety tips.
  10. If you feel you made the right decision, there's no reason to feel guilty.
  11. I posted this elsewhere but moved it here instead. For nurses who do HH, how risky is it for a woman? Are you ever afraid or feel in danger? There was a story recently on the news about a HH visit that led to her being raped. HH sounds like a great idea, yet I can't help but wonder about the safety of it all.
  12. Are HH CNAs paid as independent contractors or hourly employees?
  13. 7 to 12 sounds exhausting. Are they all in the same area?
  14. I'm pursuing a nursing degree but I have NO desire to work in acute care. It doesn't fit my personality. I think more nurses should confidently pursue the niche that works for them instead of following the herd.
  15. Hospitals in Palm Beach County don't hire LPNs. They hire RNs, CNAs or PCTs (patient care techs), which is a CNA with EKG and/or phlebotomy training.
  16. Isn't it illegal for a potential employer to ask or discuss your age during an interview?
  17. How can you tell if a HH company is disreputable? Word of mouth?
  18. No wonder so many people die from medication errors each year.
  19. Your question is a bit confusing. CNAs don't take the NCLEX, only nurses like RN or LPN. Are you a nurse or nursing assistant?
  20. The previous posts did clear this up. That article is irrelevant. Your EMPLOYER decides if they want to utilize you as a PCT or LPN. They're not required by law to hire you as an LPN if they don't want to. It's at their discretion. Even if they have other LPNs, they're not mandated to hire YOU as one. You don't have a "right" to be an LPN at their company. Can the manager hire you as an LPN if she wants to? Of course, but if she doesn't want to, there's NOTHING you can do about it other than find a new job elsewhere. Hope this helps.
  21. Look into a for-profit nursing school. I don't think they're as strict as the non-profit schools, but they cost a lot more.
