Social Life Concerns
Just be sure that you give your employer the required notice for days off , and you should be fine, most nurses manage to have family and friend time, don't let yourself become overloaded though, it can be a stressful job

I've been a nurse since.....(fill in the blank)
I've been a nurse since 2006, we had kardex careplans and all paper charting , MARs, and orders then, I've worked in med surg, LTC , home health, pre admission, and surgical, I've enjoyed most of my patients, coworkers, and positions, I'm proud to be an RN:nurse:

having difficulty deciding..LPN or RN?
Yes , think about what will work best for you, it is a tough road for anyone to obtain the RN license, set that as your goal and work toward it, if it means LVN first, then that will help you gain some knowledge along the way, best wishes

Business Brainstorm
The legal nurse consultants I have heard of do that as a side job, maybe until they have enough clients, what kind of things are you good at , as for options for other jobs, baking? Pet grooming? See if you could get a job somewhere auditing pt charts , LTC, hospital, government positions

Wearing scrubs to a funeral?
I think just nice clean clothing would be appropriate, but whatever you can manage would be fine, like the other posts said , the family will be glad to see everyone who cared about their loved one, I have attended funerals in scrubs, usually because I did not have time to go put on other clothes though

MA before LVN?
Take remedial courses or get a tutor and pursue a degree of science in nursing, you can work at a hospital as a care technician or at a doctor's office in the mean time

Rant:How NOT to be a nurse
Sadly, this sort of thing occurs often, I have stories of my own, and I have heard of many others. There are a lot of nurses in this field for the wrong reasons, and the nurses that do want to care for their patients have other things to worry about, like charting to hospital standards, or too many patients, insurance will not cover that med etc, sadly computer issues delay care, technology can really work against the medical field at times, these are not excuses, but things nurses have to deal with now

Word crimes! (No txtng)
LOL that is so funny! I do not mind the occasional LOL, but there are many times, especially texting for work, that I wish everyone would use words?

When a Doctor is very nasty...and
Sue??? Sounds a little extravagant! I would speak with your nursing supervisor, have a group meeting , and see if administration would speak to him about it, most problems can be resolved with communication

LPN vs RN vs MA- Doctor's Office Job
A lot of doctor's offices use unlicensed staff, so you can potentially work in a doctor's office without a nursing license, Home health uses CNA, LVNs, RNs, depends on how much you would like to get paid, and if you want the responsibilty of an RN
