  1. Stephen King Readers Thread

I have Revival on my nightstand, but it must wait until finals are over for this semester. Can't wait to read for pleasure again!
  2. Help on heart failure

By the way, in order to receive help with those types of questions, you will need to present what answer you came up with when asking. Nurses here are willing to share their knowledge, but like see you are trying on your own
  3. Help on heart failure

This would only be a though-out guess (I'm a student too), but I think maybe it's because of the decreased cardiac function produced by the drug, along with the side effect of peripheral vasoconstriction? What do you think?
  4. First Choice Nurse; Second ???

I would be a reviewer of all-inclusive vacation resorts.
  5. Zombie Apocalypse: WWND?

I don't know how long I would last, but I know I wouldn't: lay my weapon down, turn my back on or poke a zombie I think is dead, call the names of people I'm looking for in a quiet, dark room, or run to the basement or roof.
  6. Zombie Apocalypse: WWND?

Ruby Vee, you might enjoy the book "The Second After" by William Forstchen.
  7. A first for me in clinicals today

Today was my last day of clinical this semester :) It's been a long 16 weeks!
  8. In Ohio thinking of STNA for part time job

    State Tested Nursing Assistant
  9. In Ohio thinking of STNA for part time job

Premier Choice Health Services in Columbus is a good place. You can take the class and the state test there.
  10. Myrtle Beach RNs??

Good questions! I'm in Ohio right now, but I'm also planning on moving back to the MB area in 2016. Looking forward to responses. Good luck in your program :)
  11. no lifting policy and discrimination

To add to Ceccia's input, I think maybe the issue with "bring your husbands/wives" may also be excluding those who are simply single. It sounds like a married couples only party.
  12. Here is a link to a Web site where you can enter the name of your school(s) and courses you've taken: https://www.transferology.com/ It will show you a list of schools your credits will transfer to and for what courses they transfer as. A lot of gene...
  13. Cleaning and changing colostomy bag

I know the OP probably knows the answer to her question by now, but I wanted to reiterate what SweetSouthernLove and RNsRWe said, in case future readers search for similar questions. Always make sure you are doing what is allowed by your state boar...
  14. Grading scale

I plan to continue my education for BSN while working as ADN. May go for NP someday.
  15. Grading scale

    93-100 A 87-92 B 82-86 C Anything below 82 is failing. No rounding of grades.
  16. 2014 Applicants

Thought I'd come back and update. I got in!!!!!!!
  17. 2014 Applicants

    Congratulations!!!!
  18. 2014 Applicants

Thank you for the wishes of luck! As of today, the bright side of this wait is that we only have 2-3 weeks to go before we get some news, and it gets closer each day. Best of luck to you too :)
  19. 2014 Applicants

I reapplied to the ADN program at Washington State Community College in Marietta, Ohio. I was accepted for the Fall 2013 start, but substantial circumstances kept me from entering. Hoping and praying to get in again. Nothing's stopping me this time! ...
  20. I'm not going to pass my teas

I just took the TEAS V last night and absolutely agree with HappyWife77. The most important thing to do is study what you are unfamiliar with and take the practice tests. I'm not strong in math at all. I had to go back and review nearly all of it. Ho...
  21. Hocking College Nelsonville, OH

[h=5]I'm thinking about going to Hocking for LPN or RN. There isn't anything posted online about the waiting lists (like how long, possible advanced standing, etc)? Does anyone know what the HESI scores are that determine whether one starts in PN...
  22. Hocking College Nelsonville, OH

Just an update to any others looking for Hocking info: What I've learned so far is there is a wait list of about 18 months for both LPN and RN programs. 75% on all sections of the HESI gets you in the RN program. Otherwise, you are placed on the LPN...
  23. How much do you make as a tech?

Parkersburg, WV $8.10 plus .90 shift differential for nights, but I LOVE my job.
  24. Why do you love Med/Surg?

Well, I'm not a nurse yet (so excited....I got into an RN program for this fall :)), but I work on Med/Surg as a PCT, and I LOVE it! I really enjoy the diversity of it. There are times when it slows down a little, and we can all catch our breath. The...
  25. Look Back *Giggle* For Today

LOL.....this reminds me of something I did when I was about 5 years old. I wanted a "doctor's kit". You know, the little plastic case that comes with sticker band-aids, plastic stethoscope and all. Well, my dad and I went to the Sundry store one day,...
