Myrtle Beach RNs??
I hear a lot about Charleston and Greenville, but where are the MB nurses? What about pay and facility experiences in MB? I am interested in learning about MB and Wilmington NC area. ASN vs BSN? Any pay difference? Is it required in some facilities in MB or Wilmy? I plan on moving in 2016 when I graduate with my BSN. Some direction and advice from experienced nurses in this area would be appreciated!

Name the Hospital and Starting Salary
Interesting, going to follow. I am planning on moving back in 2016 when I graduate with my BSN. Hopefully Wilmington area. Have rates changed in that are from the last post? Seems very similar to RN rates in East TN.

RN salaries in North Carolina?
Interesting. I hope to hear more, I am planning on moving to NC or SC in 2016. Seems like the pay for NC RNs is very similar, if not identical, to the pay in East TN.

LPN in homecare
The home health agency I am currently working for has LPNs in supervisory positions such as scheduling, interviewing, disiplinary and all that. Two in fact that I can think of right off. One does the scheduling and the other is over the Private Duty division of the agency and does all the hiring and firing.

PA scope of practice for LPN. IV pushes?
LPNs do IV therapy including IV pushes in Tennessee as long as they are certified(some won't take the optional class i don't know why). If you are certified you start doing them in clinicals. Every facility has there own rules as to if there are certain drugs LPNs can't push, usually diltiazem. Yes we start IVs and maintain them here in TN. In fact, most of the IVs in the last hospital I worked at were started by the LPNs it was part of their job. Not to say the RNs wouldn't start them it was just left to the LPNs while the RN was doing assesments etc.

Where can a new grad LPN get a job with decent pay and lower cost of living??
try tennessee. lpn still work in all healthcare facilities. we do ivs here so if you're not iv certified then you will have to take a course for that here, most hospitals will arrange one for you. cost of living is low here so you will make less than up northeast but still a good living for down here. hope this helps!

Are LPN's being phased out?
putting my 2 cents worth in, here in tennessee lpns are still working in all healthcare facilities including hospitals. on med surg specifically there are on average 4 lpns, 2 rns, and 4 cnas on a 25 patient floor/wing. as far as wages, in this area lpns can make anywhere from $11-20/hour depending on where they work. hospitals usually are in the median. highest paying jobs are in agencies. for this rural area, that is good money.
