I tried to take anatomy in the summer a couple years ago. It was SUPER intense. 40 hours/week minimum. I don't know how you all are taking that and other classes. Good luck everyone!

1) Love working with people. The idea of helping someone in their most desperate time of need is pretty awesome. 2) 27 now, 29 when I graduate. 3) I'm going to a CC for my ADN then I'd like to transfer to UW to get my BSN. After that I'd like to work pediatric oncology. Outside of that, I just want the perfect family with the white picket fence.

You assume the worst in this guy despite knowing nothing about him. You find amusement in his failure. Because you and many others could handle the poo, but this guy couldn't, he's weak or didn't really want to be a nurse? Some times people just can't handle certain things. Shoulda/coulda/woulda been a CNA first or shadowed a nurse, but he didn't. I doubt most people take the time or effort to do that before nursing school. Doesn't mean I don't desperately want to be a nurse... I start nursing school in a couple weeks. I guess I should try and convince a friend to S themselves just to see if I can handle it.

Find someone that will let you draw on them and outline every muscle you need to know. Sounds ridiculous but you'd be surprised at how much it will help.

You're best chance is to find a program that accepts students based on TEAS scores or something like that. They'll have a cutoff GPA just to be eligible, so you might have to retake a class or two, but if the school goes off GPA alone you have no chance. Good luck!

Obviously you're not happy with your boyfriend or you wouldn't have let yourself get close to this guy in class. Sounds to me like you're just making sure he's better than your bf so you can leave the bf for school guy. Not exactly fair to bf, no?

Wow, do I have to look forward to this kind of judging because I tan, workout and care about my appearance?!? I can assure you that I did not want to go into nursing because I "believed the Mediao". To be honest, I'm a little nervous how ill react to the first bedpan I have to clean. I'm confident that ill make it through it, but I've never done it so who knows. If I do struggle though, I hope people aren't laughing.

Since I'm only just starting nursing school I'm really not sure exactly what I want to do. I just know I want to work somewhere in Seattle Children's.

When you say a lot of nurses chase doctors you might as well say a lot of nurses have common sense. Is there something wrong with wanting to be with someone smart, educated and that makes good money?!?

I can't decide if I want to buy an ipad or a new laptop. I refuse to use a rolling bag. Drives me nuts seeing guys in their 20's using those things. Big leather shoulder strap briefcase perhaps? Need to find some stylish man shoes. Everyone and their mother recommends danskos, but there's gotta be something else out there equally as comfy but doesn't look awful like the danskos. BUMP Anyone going to Everett? For anyone considering it, here's what got me in to their nursing program. Accumulative GPA: 3.26 Science GPA: 2.92 (with a few repeats) TEAS: 82.0% Not stellar by any means, but I made it! Plus this upcoming spring quarter we move into the brand new building. Can't wait!!!

I've asked myself that a bazillion times. Trying to change the question to, will I work hard enough to make it through nursing school? Will I stay focused on what's important and not let unnecessary distractions in? Go for it. Give it a try. Worst that could happen is you realize that it's not right for you.

I apologize in advance for some of the things I'm about to say. This post rubbed me the wrong way. Not a fashion show? Who are you to say that it's wrong to care about your appearance as a nurse?!? By putting care into her look, maybe it gives her more confidence, enabling her to be a better nurse. Just because it might not fit your definition of professional, doesn't mean that it's not. The only ones that YOU....I repeat YOU have seen get talked to are "WAY out of line". So you just assume that's the case for everyone? Maybe she has a supervisor that has a huge stick up her butt?!? You say public. Did she say this lingerie party was open to the public? The fact that she took the time to ask the question on this board shows me that she actually cares, so i'm guessing its safe to assume shes probably not going to stop by Safeway in her sexy nurse outfit to buy wine and liquor. As far as pictures being taken...that's EVERYWHERE! "The public tends to be ignorant about nurses." The public is ignorant about a lot. The same public that assumes all massage parlors give happy endings. Or if you have tattoos, piercings and unique hair you're an idiot/criminal/rude...etc. if you're going to devote your life to trying to gain the respect of "the public" then you sure got your work cut out for you. The public insists on being miserable. On finding the bad in everything. On making ignorant assumptions. A woman dresses sexy so she's a ****. A woman goes to a costume party as a sexy nurse so all nurses walk around hospitals in short skirts, heels offering free tugs? Screw worrying about people like that. Be a good person - be a good nurse - have fun (even if that means showing a little skin)

I got mine about a week and a half ago. I look at it probably 10 times a day and smile. SUCH A RELIEF!!! Congrats to all of us, and best of luck to those still waiting to hear back.

Nicknames like: Richie, John Boy, Bobby D, Kimmy, Rach.....GOOD Nicknames like: Stinky, pecker head, boobs of Bellevue, large marge.....BAD Huge difference in those groups. I don't understand AT ALL how someone could knock someone for going by something like Richie.

I think it might be a little weird if I had to be completely naked and the whole class could see me. If its just a few others and I have on a swimsuit then I can't imagine how that could be uncomfortable?!? If you went on vacation to Hawaii would you not lay on the beach in front of everyone there in a swimsuit?

I got to use a calculator. Scored a 96% in the math section!

With every practical I would write down every single bone/muscle or whatever that could be on that test at least 20 times. Writing helps me memorize. For the muscles, try and find someone that will let you write all over their body. Outline every muscle. It's fun.
